STOLPERSTEINE

Goethe-Institut Niederlande, Rotterdam, 2021

Stolpersteine are an artwork by Gunter Demning and can be found all over Europe. The memorial stones remember the people who fell victims to National Socialism and are placed into the ground in front of their last freely chosen residence.

Throught the collaboration of the Goethe-Institut Niederlande and the Stichting Stolpersteine the growing demand for Stolpersteine in the Netherlands can be met. A workshop in the garden of the Goethe-Institut in Amsterdam, Alexander Stukenberg produces Stolpersteine and offers school classes and groups to follow his process and an opportunity to interview him on the project.

The Goethe-Institut Rotterdam developed a series of educative posts on instagram as well as an introduction to Stukenberg and the project on their website. For the collection of facts around the project, I provided the illustrations.
